Well...

Not gonna lie, the robot is quite a sexy aspect of the picture but you mugged it all up... you're focusing on the wrong things, you see when an audience views a picture they of course notice the best detailed thing first... unless it takes up less that 65% of the picture. The focus should be on the robot of course but you didn't make it subtle enough, it's too obvious as was the fact you got lazy. You could have taken the extra 2 hours to make a half-decent background, the main focus should make the reader say: "great picture!" NOT "great robot" You need to start with an amazingly detailed background with your best art, then slam that robot on the front and blur up the background a bit making everyone say: "Holy F**k that is amazing, look at all the detail" NOT "~Nice dude~" that's a lame review man... work on it, in fact strip the background and make a good one!

Hope I helped =]

Kinsei responds:

Damn boy, If I didn't know any better I'd say you were standing over my shoulder as I worked on this. Very nice analysis.
You were spot on with just about everything. In truth I did get very lazy on this, I had spent the better part of a week on the robot and I was sick of looking at it. I rushed out the background and that was a very poor mistake by me. I should have taken my time.

This folks is a very solid review. Thanks man. Perhaps in the near future I can get the chance to rework that background to do the robot justice.

...

Finally a picture I understand... staring into the depths of the veins and crevasses I can't help but become lost in the detail of this great work of art. Do I give a damn what it is? No, I just see the detail the heart and the emotion, 10/10 my good man, 10/10.

Bryony responds:

it's a pen drawing of two overlapping x-ray hearts injected with fluid to darken the veins :) thank you muchly :)

Ugh you messed up his skin tone pretty bad

Actionsquid responds:

You're one to talk! This is how I wanted him to look in the first place. The only time his skin tone was ever messed up is when YOU colored him. Honestly...

I see an Action squid

Hey

As much as the new MS Paint rocks, and as slow as the work goes with it I recommend switching programs. I know for a fact, as a fellow Paint worker, that it is addicting and fun but you must, however reluctantly switch to Gimp2. Gimp is free and slightly complicated but when you get into it the work is a million times faster and sometimes more fun, you can still do pre-coloring with Paint too, it's what I do, it will improve the sky and water, just play around with it =D [ http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ ]

StarwolfTsuname responds:

I've tried Gimp before and it slows my computer down too much, that and its not very impressive to me in certain aspects. Perhaps if I get a laptop or something with more memory, I can advance to new painter levels. but thanks for the advice :3

um...

Meh, it's kinda cliché... Only a million people have made this kind of character, how, about some originality here.

Actionsquid responds:
